October 2018 Wine Club Red

Published by |

2016 was remarkable vintage in the Bordeaux region, both in quantity and quality. A very wet start for the first six months of the year was followed by a very dry period in summer months, which culminated in localized thundershowers and a beautiful Indian summer, allowing the grapes to reach optimal ripeness. The red wines are rich, smooth and fruity, deep-colored and mature in tannins.

Legende 2016 is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. Deep crimson in color, the nose is filled with aromatic red fruit as raspberry and red currant, accompanied by hints of oak. The palate is structured with a round and pleasing mouth feel and nicely oaked with firm, but silky tannins. The finish is long, fresh, and fruity. This is an elegant wine, a wonderful example of the freshness and elegance of Bordeaux wines.

This easy-to-drink Bordeaux works well as an aperitif, as an accompaniment to dinner with friends or as just a glass of wine in front of the fire.
