Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) acquired Viña Los Vascos in 1988, animated by a pioneering spirit and with the vision to reveal the potential of this exceptional land through patience, passion and an unrelenting quest for excellence.

Las Huertas Chardonnay is a fresh and delicate wine, with a harmonious and fruity bouquet. The vineyard’s own Chardonnay grapes are complemented by a selection of grapes from Casablanca Valley located further north between Santiago and Valparaiso. Flavorful, fresh and pleasant, this wine has an appealing character with good lingering fruit.

The grapes were picked early in the morning, when temperatures are lower than during the day, to allow the grapes to retain their full potential. Once selected, the grapes were carefully crushed before undergoing alcoholic fermentation in stainless-steel vats at a controlled temperature between 14°C and 16°C.

The resulting wine is a beautiful pale, bright yellow, with an explosion of aromas with distinctive notes of pineapple, melon, banana, and grapefruit. Slight notes of pear and elegant floral scents also are present.

Flavorful, fresh, and pleasant on the palate, the wine has quite an appealing character that continues with lingering fruit. Rich and creamy in texture, the wine is finely balanced with excellent acidity. Best served slightly chilled, this Chardonnay will pair with numerous food selections from cheeses, seafood, poultry, and sauced dishes.
