2015 PETER LEHMANN SHIRAZ “THE BAROSSAN”
Peter Lehman, the founder of Peter Lehman winery, is a legend in the Australian wine industry, and recipient of the International Wine Challenge Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009, four years before his death in 2013. The winery continues to honor his legacy of crafting wines for the long term while working for the land.
Crafted by the next generation of Peter Lehmann winemakers, The Barossan showcases the superb fruit sourced from the many fabled sub-regions across the Barossa Valley. It is a quintessential expression of Barossa Shiraz, a complex layered full-bodied wine that drinks well now and will cellar till 2029.
The wine has strong notes of cherry and dark fruit with sweet chocolate and mocha undertones. On the palate, it is an intense, generous full-bodied wine with fine tannins and a soft supple finish.
Awarded 93 points by the Wine Spectator, this rich, bold wine is a perfect complement to slow-roasted barbecue meats, roasted carrots, and garlic mashed potatoes.
