Argyle Winery was founded in 1987 by Rollin Soles with the purpose of making world class Sparkling Wine in the perfectly suited true cool climate of Oregon’s Willamette Valley. What began as a conviction to grow grapes for sparkling wine, expanded to an ambition to build a legacy through the long lives of their wines that could challenge the very best sparkling wines, Riesling, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir from across the globe.

The 2015 Argyle Brut is composed of 70% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Meunier. The 2015 growing season had plenty of sunshine and warmth, resulting in a harvest in late August and early September. This wine is barrel aged in 93% stainless steel and 7% neutral oak.

The resulting wine is described in the winery’s tasting notes: “The 2015 sparkling wine vintage in the Willamette Valley was impeccable, showcasing the enticing depth and focused precision the region has to offer. The Pinot Noir dominated blend provides impressive red-fruited dimension to the white peach, wild honey and toasted brioche. The middle palate is invigorated with dynamic acid backbone and edgy minerality, bringing balance and concentration to the long finish.”

Both the Wine Spectator and Wine & Spirits awarded this vintage 90 points, calling this wine “polished and elegantly focused.”

Pair this wine with a wide variety of foods, from seafood to spicy vegetarian fare.
