2019 DOMAINE FAIVELEY BOURGOGNE ROUGE
Domaine Faiveley was founded in 1825 by Pierre Faiveley. Today it is run by the 7th generation of Faiveleys, brother Erwan and sister Eve, who continue the wine-making traditions practiced for centuries but combine them with modern wine-making methods. It is today the largest family-owned domaine in Bourgogne (Burgundy in French).
This 100% Pinot Noir wine is sourced from vineyards spread across the terroirs of Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise. It is vinified for 12 to 14 months in the cellars of Domaine Faiveley.
Winemaker’s notes describe this wine as, “A beautiful ruby color. This wine has pleasant, fresh, red-fruit aromas on the nose, which we find again on the palate. It has rich and very ripe substance, with fine round tannins. It’s a very well-structured and pleasing wine.”
This classic burgundy will pair well with mild cheeses, seared tuna, or a rack of lamb.
